Happy Birthday Lauren - 13 Today, first day as a Teenager... :o)

Hi Lauren,

Hope you have a great birthday, I'll be thinking about you today (like most days) hoping you get everything you want.  I sent a birthday card by registered post, did you get it OK?

I've added a picture of me so you dont forget what I look like... as if, not likely to forget my ugly mug eh?  Seriously though I dont want you forgetting me... I'll add the occasional picture now and then so when you do finally want to see me it wont be too much of a shock to find I've turned into your Grandad... LOL!

Its not the best picture in the world and I could have had a shave but it was a spur of the moment thing.  We've added some birthday money to your savings account and I think your Nan & Grandad have done the same.... Not too sure what Dean's doing I haven't seen him this week... Give him a ring eh??  let him know how you are... you could do with sending him a new necklace; the one you gave him ages ago is looking a bit tatty now but he wont get rid of it :o)

Have a great day, Happy Birthday again.

Love you loads

Hi Lauren,

Its been a while since I last updated your site,  bet you thought I'd forgotten about you... There's not much chance of that, I've not had much to say, things are just bobbing along as they do.  Hows everything your end? you'll have been back at school a while now is everything OK?

I've updated your savings page, you've saved quite a few bob now, what do you want me to do about your birthday? if you let me know what you want I can send it to you; if not I'll just add some more to your savings.  Your Nan has opened a savings account for you as well by the way, she doesn't think she can send you anything anymore just in case she gets another horrible phone call from your Mum.

Your Nans just had an operation on her wonky toe by the way, so she's laid up for the next four weeks, she's moaning coz she cant get to drive her car about but at least her toe will be fixed at the end of it all.

That's about all for now, hope everything is Ok with you...  See you soon

Love you

Hi Lauren,

Not long to go now before you're back at school eh?  This is my first day back in work after having two weeks holiday.  We didnt go anywhere; just did some jobs around the house n stuff....  We did go to Bruges in Belgium for the day. Its an overnight ferry to Zebrugge, then the day in Bruges and an overnight ferry back.  Bruges is lovely, it's a very old city with some great buildings and history.  We had a tour around a Belgian brewery; don't suppose you'd appreciate it but after the tour there was a sample of the beer they brew there its 6.9% and tasted absolutely lovely... something I didnt expect, I thought it would taste horrible being so strong but it wasn't... that's the extent of my holidays this year, did you go anywhere?

Dean had the same first week as me but he went to Jenny's in Leeds.  While they were there they had a trip to London to see 'Lord of the Rings' the stage show as a birthday treat for Jenny from her parents. Seems to have had a great time from what he tells me so that's good.

Also in the first week of the Holidays your Nan went to see Sharon for a week leaving Grandad on his own but he managed OK we all took turns going to see him making sure he was OK

Not much else happened, Im doing some decorating at the moment so I had a kind of a bus- mans holiday

Dont know if you've noticed but I have added a Savings link to the top menu.  It tells you how much you have in your savings account.  It's there when you're ready.

I was watching a programme last night about some blokes who work down the sewers in London; one guy hadn't been in his daughters life for the first 14 years but they are in contact with each other again now and have been for the last 9 years.  Dont leave it that long will you?

Thats all for now
Love and miss you more every day :(

Good luck back at school....   :)

Hi Lauren,

I presume you've finished school now for the summer, it's a pity the weather is so rubbish but I suppose its better down your neck of the woods, can't really say we've had much of a summer up here, a few weeks of sun I think and thats about it .

Im not gonna hold my breath waiting for anyone to send me your school report or a picture but I will be following up on the court order I have that says I am to receive an annual picture and report.  Even if its just a current picture and you let me know everything is OK that would be fine.

Dean has just bought a new motorbike, a Yamaha 125. I'll see if I can get a picture of him on it and put it on your site. It's a lot better than the last one he had if bikes can be any better than each other.  I wanted him to carry on with his driving lessons and get a car but you know Dean when he gets something in his head...

Dont suppose you'd like to come up and see us for a few weeks while your off school, everyone would love to see you?  I'm off work for two weeks August 10 - 28th I could come down and pick you up... let me know.

That's all for now, your pocket money is up to £90.00 by the way

Love you

19th June 2007

Hi Lauren,

Fathers day came and went, didnt get a card from you again... nevermind eh... its only a card.
Dean bought me a great wine bottle puzzle containing a bottle of wine, similar to this picture,

Wine Puzzle

took me about 20 minutes to get to the wine but I havent opened it yet, I'm on a diet again.
I stopped smoking about 18 months ago and I've put on a few pounds so I need to lose a bit.

How is everything your end, are you still enjoying school? have you taken up any hobbies? It would be great to hear from you... make it sooner rather than later Loz.

Just to let you know you have four weeks pocket money saved up now... takes you to this Thursday 21st June 2007.

Love you loads

Hi Lauren,

I'm not exactly sure if you received my last letter, I know your Mum did because Dean received the usual 100+ horrible text messages.  Its a shame really, it's got nothing to do with him any of this.  All he wants is to be able to talk to his Mum and his Sister without getting all the abuse for so called 'taking sides'.  It has nothing to do with you either by the way but I know its easier putting up with this mess than going through with what Dean has to put up with.

Anyway I haven't heard anything from you so from this week coming your pocket money and any other gift/present will be going into a savings account for you.  It will be there waiting for you whenever you want to contact me.   I'll let you know how much is in the account every now and then.

As I said previously, dont think too bad of me, I don't know what else to do, all I want is for you to contact me.... and sort out this mess...  One thing you can be sure of, Im not going anywhere, I'll be here when you are ready.

Love you

Dad

Hi Lauren,

It’s been about a month again since I last wrote, I’m not exactly sure if you ever get to read these letters or they just mysteriously disappear, I know you never get to open them so who’s to say that you ever actually get them.   That was the whole point of the miss-lauren website, at least I knew you could read my letters if you wanted to and they couldn’t be ripped up.

Any way to cut a long story short, I am going to put this letter back on the Miss Lauren website along with the letters I have sent up to know.  if I don’t hear from you within two weeks from the date of this letter I will presume you want nothing else to do with me: that being the case I will stop sending your pocket money.  I will keep it in a separate account for you but won’t send it.  You can’t really blame me can you? Why should I keep sending money to somebody who wants nothing at all to do with me? Who can’t even send a thank you for the Christmas, Easter and birthday presents I’ve sent you. You are 13 in October and should know your own mind. You certainly knew what you wanted when you chose to live in Devon and you were only 10 then!

I don’t know whether you know or not but Dean gets loads and loads of horrible text messages almost every day from your mother especially just after I have sent one of these letters to you.  He’s only shown me a few of them and in the main doesn’t tell me what’s in most of them but I can tell they upset him.  He tells me he is sick and tired of them but won’t change his number because he knows you have his number and may need to contact him.

I can imagine how hard it is living in an environment filled with so much hate towards me but there are still ways you could contact me.  As I say it’s up to you…  One thing I will say is I will never fill your head with lies.  If you want to ask me anything I will always tell you the truth.

Even though this letter sounds harsh, don’t ever think I don’t care, there’s nothing more I would like than to see you again and be part of your life.  You can contact me on msn messenger msn@jacktenforty.co.uk or by talking to Dean who will give you a number so you can talk to me.   I’m sorry I can’t give you a phone number but I don’t want to get 100’s of text messages from your Mum.

Love you

15th April 2007

Hi Lauren,

Easter came and went, hope yours went well.

I know there was a problem with your pocket money recently; the bank didn’t send any standing orders out so your pocket money would have been late. I rang them and asked what the problem was they said it was because of the Easter holidays – not much of an excuse if you ask me, anyway it wasn’t my fault, that’s what I am trying to get to.

I’ve sent an extra £30.00 as an Easter present this week, it was supposed to go last week but didn’t, sorry but as I said it wasn’t my fault. I’ve been away on a Painting Inspectors course for a week (so I’m a fully fledged painting inspector now) and didn’t find out until I came back that nothing had left my account.

Hope everything is going well down there in Devon , the weather has been great up here these past few days, even had the ‘barby’ out yesterday J

I know I keep asking (and will keep doing) but is there any chance of seeing you in the summer holidays? I can come to Devon or you can come up here, I’d love to see you… so would Dean and Nan & Grandad. I can’t imagine what you look like after two and a bit years, I see all your old mates and they seem to have shot up… Dean tells me you have started picking up the Devon accentJ  You could send me a recent picture you know, it’s not a lot to ask is it.

I hardly see Dean myself these days apart from at work.  He has a new girlfriend, a Wrestler from Leeds J and he’s started a band with some of his mates, seems happy enough though, that’s the main thing I suppose.  I wish you two would stay in touch more… he’s your big brother and your shoulder to lean on when you need to talk, an even bigger plus is he’s loaded at the moment and good to cadge off… LOL!

Your Nan’s fine and your Grandad is still cooking weird things all the time, he has an oxygen machine in the house now that pumps oxygen down a thin tube that stretches forever which feeds a mask he has to wear all the time.  Dean keeps accidentally closing the door on the tube stopping Grandad’s oxygen LOL.  Max is still as smelly as ever….

Well I can’t think of anything else so that’s all for now.

Love and miss you more than you could ever know

4th March 2007

Hi Lauren,

Thanks for sending me your bank details…

Just to let you know, I’ve transferred all the pocket money I had saved up for you in to your bank account, I think it should reach you by Tuesday 6th March; so this week you should get £110.00

I’ve also set up a weekly standing order from my account for £10.00 so you’ll also receive £10.00 as well, so on Tuesday you should get a total of £120.00

Don’t spend it all at once eh….?

I’ll use your account for Easter and other occasions, I don’t want to just send the money but I hear you already had an mp3 player and the one I got you was sold, so I don’t have much choice… at least you would have got the benefit from the money eh?

Is it OK to give Dean and your Nan & Grandad the details so they can send you money when they want… If I don’t hear from you I’ll presume it’s OK

Any chance of a recent picture or an email address…  so we can email each other or go on MSN messenger?

Love and miss you…

9th Feb 2007

Hi Lauren,

It’s been a while since I last wrote, not much going on at the minute to be honest, so there’s not a lot to write about.  How are you? You know, it’s almost two years now since I last saw you?

I know I moan about this all the time but I know loads of other blokes who see their daughters (kids) after they divorce but for some reason we can’t see each other…. I’ve said it before and Ill say it again… time will tell a tale…. I’ll be here when you are ready.  Just hope it isn’t too long.  I’ll be due a picture and a school report in the summer so at least I can see how much you’ve grown and that you’re happy and getting on OK.

By the way, you have saved up quite a bit of pocket money up by now (£90.00 with this week’s).  I don’t want you thinking that you can’t have it… it’s here waiting to be sent to you.  All you have to do is send me your bank details (or Dean if you don’t want to send me them) and I’ll transfer the money into your account.  Then I will set up a standing order every week to be transferred direct to you or I can save it up for you, it’s up to you.

Don’t think too bad of me, I have never stopped loving you and never will.  Nobody will ever think of you or love you as I do no matter who they are… trust me I know….

Love you…

15th January 2007

Hi Lauren,

Hope you had a good Christmas and New Year.

I also hope you liked your present, and get good use of it.  Can’t you let me know if you received it or not?  Would be great to hear from you… it’s not too much to ask.

I’ve decided to start putting your pocket money into a savings account for you every week.  One of the reasons I have done it this way is because I don’t know whether you receive the money when I send it.  I didn’t want to do it this way but I can’t get a savings account in your name without you signing for the account, so unless you send me some bank account details that’s the way it’ll have to be.  I’ll do the same for Easter, your Birthday and Christmas.  I’ll probably be wrong for doing this but I can’t do anything right at the minute anyway.  The money will be waiting for you when you’re ready. I’ll send you a balance every now and then so you know how much you have saved.

That’s all for now, keep in touch with Dean, he misses you, as I do…

Love you

PS Balance up to now £50.00 - takes you to 14 January 2007
